How to Build a Scheduled Malware Scanning Agent in WP Godmode

AI Agents in WordPress with WP Godmode are powerful. You can use them to import content, fetch data from external resources, run malware scans, perform plugin updates, and automate many other recurring WordPress tasks.

In this tutorial, we build a simple malware scanning agent for a WordPress website, schedule it to run automatically, and enable notifications. That way, you can be notified whenever the agent finds something that needs your attention.

What the agent does

First, create a new agent in WP Godmode, give it a clear title, and define its goal. For this example, the task is simple:

Conduct a malware scan on this website and notify me if you find any issues.

Let the agent run its first task. Once the run is finished, the agent stores its memory and is ready to be used on a schedule.

Schedule the scan

Inside WP Godmode, go to the Scheduled section and create a new schedule. Select the malware scanning agent, define the task it should run, and choose how often it should execute, for example every hour, once a day, or once a week.

You can also choose how you want to receive notifications, such as by email, Microsoft Teams, or Slack, and whether the agent should send a summary of its results. Notification channels can be configured under Scheduled β†’ Notifications.

Scheduled agents help automate recurring WordPress work and can replace several dedicated plugins for tasks such as malware monitoring, website maintenance, and routine checks.
